A Creative Challenge
CHALLENGE PROMPT:
Create a 3-5 min sketch once a day for one consecutive year (365 days).
MY EXPERIENCE
The intention of this challenge was to act as a gateway to reconnect my creative spark and aid in rediscovering the ‘artist’ within me.
After years of sporadic practice, I didn’t feel in touch with my creative flow and had a hard time calling myself an ‘artist’ because of this. Actively choosing to pick up my sketchbook everyday and draw something from life was a small step toward coming back to my identity as an artist.
Staying consistent and committed wasn’t easy and at times I found myself feeling frustrated. I will admit, by the end I was happy to not have to search for another undrawn object around the house.. but the satisfaction and pride I felt from seeing all four sketchbooks filled with my art outweighs any negative feelings!
To anyone who identifies as a creative person— I challenge you!
