Materializing the Ephemeral
This design of a temporary installation for an outdoor performance space is located adjacent to Symphony Hall. This work was inspired by a contemporary music composition "Inthos Annex" written by contemporary composer, John Sakata. It was an iterative process that stemmed from studying the piece through the use of sketches, relief sculptures and paintings. The design process resulted in a netting design that captured the ephemeral essence of the musical piece through the implementation of colors and movement within the design.

Community Music School: From Music and Art to Architecture
This music school design began with the analysis of a contemporary music composition "inthos annex" by John Sakata, which included sketches, paintings, relief sculptures that explored color and movement. This study eventually developed into an installation. These conceptual representations led to the translation from art to architecture. Leading with the idea of an ephemeral space, this design transformed with the use of a fluctuating atrium space that inhabited the center of the building.
